According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, “natural gas prices were relatively high throughout 2021 and have exceeded the previous five-year (2017–21) range so far this year.” Three years ago, the magic fuel that heats homes, dries clothes, cooks food, and creates more than a third of America’s electricity was much cheaper.
