Maybe you’ve always wanted a few, but are unlucky in love. Maybe it’s a plumbing problem. Maybe the spouse is opposed. Maybe it’s just not for you. Maybe you’re barking mad, believe that the “climate crisis is a reproductive crisis,” and “can’t imagine bringing children into such a hot, troubled world.” Whatever the reason, you don’t have kids, and never will.
So why should you care about the school-choice revolution?
Well, the impact of formal education can be exaggerated — inherent traits and abilities, as well as the home lives of children, count for more — but there are quite a lot of kids in the country, and you’re bound to interact with a number of them when they become adults. It’s probably best that as many as possible can read, write, do multiplication, and know a thing or two about economics, government, and the scientific method.
