The state lieth in all languages of good and evil; and whatever it saith it lieth; and whatever it hath it hath stolen.
False is everything in it; with stolen teeth it biteth, the biting one. False are even its bowels.
— Friedrich Nietzsche

Bureaucrats Behaving Badly (D. Dowd Muska)
“On September 15, 2022, Streeter was arrested after he arranged to meet with who [sic] he believed was a 14-year-old female to have sexual intercourse for $60.”
‘She was 12, I was 30’: Biden leaves viewers stunned in teachers speech (New York Post)
“Biden lit up social media with the confounding and seemingly inappropriate aside. He did not say what he did when he was 30 and the woman was a preteen.”
Are We Falling as Rome Did? (Brownstone Institute)
“[T]he old distinction between civilization and barbarism has taken on a new form in the 21st century. It is from within our own ‘civilized’ culture that emerges an inversion of the concepts of civility and brutishness. It is our leaders, our journalists, and our professionals who ignore the standards of rational discourse, who institutionalize hatred and incite division. Today, it is the elites who are the true barbarians among us.”
GOP Sen. Toomey warns banks against getting involved in social issues (JusttheNews.com)
“Banks, Toomey asserted, are ‘currently at a critical crossroads: Accept the role that some liberals prefer which is to have your institutions implement social policy on behalf of the State, or embrace your history as drivers and promoters of free enterprise and stay out of highly charged social and political issues.’”
Is Wall Street Making Housing Unaffordable? (Randal O’Toole)
“According to table B25032 of the American Community Survey, there were 4.5 million more owner-occupied single-family homes in 2021 than in 2019. Meanwhile, the number of rented single-family homes fell by 170,000. If Wall Street investors are attempting to corner the market on single-family homes, they are doing a lousy job of it.”
State gasoline taxes varied widely across the United States in July (U.S. Energy Information Administration)
“So far this year, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, and New York have suspended some or all state-level fuel taxes. New York lowered its fuel taxes 6.0 cents/gal for both gasoline and diesel for the rest of 2022.”
IPCC’s greenhouse narrative is becoming implausible, eminent climate scientist says (The Global Warming Policy Foundation)
“If you are going to blame everything on carbon dioxide, you have to explain why, on all timescales, temperatures in the tropics are extremely stable while those in high latitudes are much more variable. The IPCC’s story is that small amounts of greenhouse warming near the equator are ‘amplified’ at high latitudes. But neither theory nor data support the idea of amplification.”
Not Really A Heartbeat, Clump Of Cells, Property Not People — It’s The Same Old Lie (The Federalist)
“At 15 weeks — the gestational age at which a Republican bill currently proposed in the Senate would ban abortions, earning Democrat panic — babies can feel pain, their hearts are ‘pumping approximately 26 quarts of blood daily,’ their skeletons and organs are formed, they can start moving their limbs, and they can taste and hear. Even the pro-abortion corporate media were fawning just Thursday over a study showing that babies in the womb made different facial expressions in reaction to what their mothers ate.”
Heading into the mid-term elections, fresh data offers real reason for pro-life optimism (National Right to Life News)
“The big picture: Democrats have been laser focused on abortion as a winning issue, but the new data shows a waning interest nationally after the initial surge that followed the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade.”
Newberg ban on political symbols is unconstitutional, judge rules (The Oregonian)
“A Newberg school district policy banning employees from displaying ‘political’ or ‘controversial’ signs including pride and Black Lives Matter flags violates the Oregon constitution, a Yamhill County judge ruled.”
Key facts about U.S. Latinos for National Hispanic Heritage Month (The Pew Charitable Trust)
“During the 2010s, an average of 1 million Hispanic babies were born each year, slightly more than during the 2000s. At the same time, about 350,000 Hispanic immigrants arrived annually, down substantially since the previous two decades. The predominance of new births over immigration as a source of Hispanic population growth in the 21st century is a reversal of historical trends. In the 1980s and 1990s, immigration drove Hispanic population growth as more Hispanic immigrants arrived than Hispanic babies were born.”
Axiom Space to fly Saudi astronauts (SpaceNews)
“The agreement with Saudi Arabia was one of several with countries that Axiom announced during the International Astronautical Congress … . On Sept. 19, Axiom announced an agreement with the Turkish Space Agency to fly a Turkish astronaut on a future Axiom mission. Neither Axiom nor the Turkish government announced a date for the flight.”
Air Force Generals Aren’t “Losing Sleep” Over China’s J-20 Stealth Fighter (The War Zone)
“Wilsbach qualified his comments by saying that the Air Force has ‘had a limited opportunity to assess it [the J-20], but it seems ok.’ He added that after ‘some recent close engagements we had with our 5th gen jets and some of their J-20s’ in the Pacific region, the Air Force had ‘learned a lot from that,’ but that ‘it is nothing frankly that I would worry too much about.’”
Grover Cleveland: One of the great anti-imperialist presidents (Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft)
“Cleveland’s opposition to the annexation of Hawaii as president was one of the best things he did in office, but it was soon overwhelmed by the expansionist frenzy unleashed by the war with Spain under his successor. His leadership in fighting against the annexation of the Philippines after he left office was further proof that his rejection of imperialism was rooted in deep principle.”
The Feminist Dystopia Don’t Worry Darling Isn’t a Big Idea Movie. It’s a Dumb Idea Movie. (Reason)
“It yearns to say something important about the state of contemporary womanhood, the way that domesticity traps women, the male desire for female subservience, the pathetic character of modern men, and the rest of the Betty Friedan catalog of complaints. But its thematic ambitions end up tripping over its desire to package all of this into an accessible high-concept genre piece; rather ironically, Darling’s ideas are undercut by its desire to please.”
